How to Use the Site

The site is divided into several areas. The top area contains the header, with links to the main pages about the company and allowing you to order brochures or subscribe to the newsletter. It also contains information about the page you are on (where you are in the site, with links to the relevant category if you are looking at a product) and your login status.

The left hand area contains the main category menu, with tags at the top and all other product categories listed below. Clicking on a category will show you all the products within that category. Some you can order directly from that page; others you will have to view further details before ordering - these are the products with options, or variants to choose between.

When viewing details of a product, you will be able to see further images of the product if these are available (there will be small 'thumbnails' below the main image), as well as viewing all relevant information, any options or variants of the product, any promotional price and related documents and other products if these exist.

The main area of the page is where you will see the bulk of the information; this and other text, lists of products, product details and your basket contents.

The right of the page contains information you may find useful; our current best-selling products, the contents of your shopping basket and links to some promotions.

The footer at the bottom of the page contains some more useful links that may be of interest.

Ordering Products Online

Ordering products on the internet is easy and secure. To order products from Fearing please simply add them to your basket, either from the category list page or from the product details page.

When a product has been ordered to your basket you will see that the number of items and total price of your basket (at the top right of the window) will increase to reflect the new addition. Clicking on the 'your basket' link or the 'proceed to checkout' button will take you to a page where you can see and edit the contents of your basket.

On the basket page you will see a summary of each product you have requested, with quantity and price displayed. You can update the quantity on this page (simply change the number in the quantity box and click 'Update' at the top or bottom of the basket list).

You can also save products for later from the basket page (this is the same as saving products to your favourites). These saved products can be accessed only when you are registered; from the account menu choose 'Saved Items' to view, amend and add them to your basket.

Registration with Fearing.co.uk

You can register with the website very easily, and will need to complete a basic registration before you can purchase any products online. This is so that we have all your details and can contact you regarding your order should the need arise.

Registration has many benefits; registered users will not need to enter their details more than once (including CPH number for those ordering tags), as well as having the opportunity to receive special promotions and our newsletter.

Registered users will also have access to their order history, containing all orders placed through the website. Please note that orders placed by telephone, post or fax will not show on the order history page. The page can be accessed through the accounts menu.

Registration can be achieved through the 'Register / Login' link on the top menu, or by proceeding to the checkout when you are not logged in.

Fearing account holders will not automatically be registered users of the site. If you are an account holder please register with the site anyway, so that you have a password and can sign in to receive the extra functionality.

Promotions and Discounts

From time to time promotions and discounts will be applied to products on the site. All seasonal and general promotions can be accessed by clicking on the 'Specials' link on the top main menu.

Products with discounts will have their discount price and normal price displayed on the product details page.

You may be eligible for discounts that are not visible to general customers. Be sure to sign in using the link on the top right of the main menu in order to see all available promotions.

If you have received a promotional code you can enter this as part of the checkout process; as soon as you do the promotional prices of any affected products will be updated.

Ordering Tags Online

Fearing.co.uk is the only place where you can order DEFRA compliant animal tags online.

To order tags navigate to the relevant tag page using the left hand navigation. You can view details about each tag type by clicking on the image of the tag you are interested in. When you have decided on the tag / tag combination that you require, enter these details into the fields at the bottom of the page.

The tag is entered into your basket with all details as you have specified them. If you need any details to be amended you will currently need to remove the tag from your basket and add a new tag with the correct details.

Please note that any tags ordered online will use your registered CPH number. You can change this through the account menu.

Payment Options

The Fearing.co.uk website allows you to pay by card or cheque. We accept the following cards:

  • American Express
  • Delta
  • MasterCard
  • Solo
  • Maestro
  • Visa Credit

When you enter your card details and click submit, your card details are sent securely to our payment centre. The details are then checked and the amount is reserved from the specified account. The amount is only taken from your account once we fulfil the order and send it; should we be unable to fulfil your entire order for any reason we will contact you to give you full details and will not charge you for items that have not been sent.

Security

At Fearing we take your security very seriously. We don't record any of your payment details, and we use a secure server to process you orders (this is why some people may notice a certificate popup when proceeding to their checkout; this is normal and is simply to verify that we are who we say we are).
